Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak chaired a meeting regarding underground wiring in Raja Bazaar and directed that all concerned departments should further strengthen coordination in order to complete the project in a stipulated period. He emphasized that no compromise on quality would be made and the pace of work should be accelerated. Engineer Aamir Khattak said that underground wiring would save the citizens from risk of any incident as well as restore city’s beauty.
Assistant Commissioner City Iman Tahir, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Imran Ali, and official of Wapda, Sui Gas, WASA and IESCo attended the meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office Rwp.
During the meeting, CO MCR Imran Ali briefed about the current situation and the progress of the project. He said that all electricity, sui gas, Wapda and water supply lines from Fawara Chowk to Dingi Khoi are being transferred underground, which will not only enhance the beauty of the area but also provide better facilities to the citizens. Under this scheme, a specific route for traffic has been closed so that there is no obstacle to the work. It has been decided to build a model market in the area, which will be equipped with modern facilities. Tuff tiles are also being installed to improve roads to make it easier for pedestrians.
