Srinagar, (PR) : Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has urged the international community to play its much needed role to help stop continued bloodshed and violence in Indian occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here today, the DFP spokesman advocate Arshad Iqbal, while citing martyrdom of two youth by Indian troops in Poonch area, said that it was quite unfortunate that innocent civilians were being ruthlessly slaughtered by the occupation forces day in and day out without any inkling of accountability.
Seeking global community’s intervention to stop bloodbath of innocent Kashmiris, the spokesman said it was high time that the UN and other relevant institutions should take cognisance of the dire situation in the region and hold India accountable of the crimes being committed by its forces in the disputed territory.

Meanwhile, the DFP spokesman expressed its grave concern over the continued imprisonment of the party chairman Shabir Ahmed Shah and other Kashmiri prisoners who have been laughing in different Indian jails.
Terming their imprisonment as illegal and unjustified, he said that Indian government was using detention as a tool to suppress political dissent in the region.
Voicing his party’s concern over the declining health condition of the party chairman, the spokesman urged the world human rights bodies to raise the matter with Indian government to ensure safety and early release of all the Kashmiri prisoners who have been booked under trumped charges.
