Paris, ( PR ) : President of the International Kashmir Peace Forum France, Zahid Iqbal Hashmi, welcomed the statement of Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir regarding the Kashmir issue and the ongoing Indian atrocities against the Kashmiri people.
In his statement, Zahid Iqbal Hashmi said that the people of occupied Kashmir view the Army Chief’s statement as a strong reaffirmation of Pakistan’s commitment to their right to self-determination.
He highlighted that under the rule of Narendra Modi, intolerance against Muslims in India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir has reached dangerous levels. He further stated that the Hindutva-driven Indian forces are subjecting civilians to brutal violence simply for demanding their right to self-determination.
He expressed concern that Kashmiri lands, jobs, and other vital resources are being confiscated and given to non-Kashmiris. Instead of promoting harmony, the BJP has allowed open persecution of minorities, including violence, destruction of their properties, and attacks on their religious sites.
Zahid Iqbal Hashmi called on the Indian government to immediately release Kashmiri prisoners, repeal the draconian laws imposed in Jammu and Kashmir, and create a conducive environment for meaningful dialogue. He emphasized that Kashmiris do not support conflict or war but are advocates of peace and a peaceful resolution to this long-standing issue.
