    UK-based Pak-Kashmir Diaspora seeks early peaceful solution of Kashmir issue: Ex British city Mayor

    MIRPUR,  (AJK),  (Parliament Times) :  Veteran British kashmiri politician and former Mayor of Waltham Stow, London Councilor Chaudhry Liaquat Ali has said that Pakistani and Kashmiri Diaspora community settled in UK always anxiously desirous of the early peaceful solution of the Kashmir issue and will continue to play their role until the freedom of occupied Kashmir from Indian yoke.

    “However, a strong and stable Pakistan was very much important to secure the task”, he emphasized.

    He was talking to Dr. Sardar Muhammad Tahir Tabassum, President of Kashmiri think-tank INSPAD here on Thursday.

    Kashmiris have made immense sacrifices for the freedom of the state in seventy years and are still giving. We can never leave the Kashmiri brothers alone in Indian oppression and oppression.

    UK based Chairman Muslim Friends of Labour Ch. Shoukat Ali, British Businessman Chaudhry Muhammad Ali, Inspad Vice President Colonel Rethard Mohabbat Ali and senior journalist Zafar Mughal were also present on this occasion.

    Councilor Liaquat Ali said that the massacre that took place in Jammu is the darkest tragedy in history and Kashmiris can never forget it. The activities of Kashmiri organizations have to be coordinated and a common plan of action has to be made and new initiatives have to be taken unitedly. Chaudhry Shaukat Ali said that Kashmiris including those settled abroad, need to learn from the mistakes of the past and carry forward the freedom movement of Kashmir with a new spirit and a better strategy. The Labour Party government is committed to working in good faith and we expect to do better this term.

    Inspad President Dr. Tahir Tabassum expressed the hope that the Kashmiris living in Britain will organize and mobilize the Kashmir movement with better planning. He said that the achievement of important goals can be facilitated through NGOs. INSPAD has taken many initiatives for the promotion of diplomacy and dialogue at home and abroad for thirty years and has organized many important conferences in the UK. World peace, religious harmony, dialogue and struggle together for Palestine and Kashmir.

    Counselor Liaquat Ali praised the long efforts of INSPAD and also appreciated the role of Dr. Tahir Tabasum and expressed the expectation that INSPAD will continue to work in Britain. The establishment of the chapter will enable more active work.
