    Kashmir Conference at Portcullis House Calls for International Action on Kashmir Issue

    London, (PR) : A high-profile Kashmir conference was held at Portcullis House, chaired by MP Debbie Abrahams and MP Afzal Khan with Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Minister for Rehabilitation, Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, as the special guest speaker. The event was organized by Chairmen JKSDMI Raja Najabat Khan, with collaboration from the Pakistan High Commission, represented by Dr. Faisal, Pakistan’s High Commissioner. The conference brought together a distinguished panel of British MPs, political leaders, and student representatives to discuss the ongoing human rights crisis in Indian-occupied Kashmir.

    Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, in his keynote address, expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of British parliamentarians in raising the Kashmir issue on international platforms. He emphasized that the situation in Kashmir affects over 15 million people, stating, “Everyone deserves to be free in this world, yet Kashmir remains under siege.” He urged the United Nations and the global community to uphold their commitments to the region, calling for the implementation of UN resolutions regarding the plebiscite for Kashmiris. He also condemned the ongoing oppression in Indian-occupied Kashmir, urging an end to the tyranny that the people of Kashmir have endured for decades.

    The conference featured contributions and key note speeches from several prominent MPs, including Afzal Khan, Yasmin Qureshi, Abtisam Mohammad, Gareth Snell, Sarah Owen, Rachel Hopkins, James Frith, Andy McDonald, Adnan Hussain, Ayoub Khan, Jeremy Corbyn, Mohammad Yasin , Anas sarwar, Rachel Hopkins and Clive betts. Mayor of Manchester Yasmeen Dar also participated specially. Special recognition was given to Afzal Khan and Mohammad Yasin for their consistent efforts in advocating for the Kashmiri cause in Parliament.

    Wajahat Ali Javed, a student representative, was also among them including other social and human rights activists representatives and highlighted the younger generation’s involvement in the movement for Kashmiri rights.

    The conference underlined the
    importance of collaborative efforts between British lawmakers and the international community in seeking justice for the Kashmiri people.

    The chair, Debbie Abrahams, and the organiser Raja Najabat Khan thanked Javed Iqbal Badhanvi for his valuable contributions and reiterated the importance of continued engagement on the Kashmir issue. Minister Badhanvi, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the British MPs for their dedication and efforts, particularly in keeping the plight of Kashmiris in the international spotlight.
