CRD instructs to take strict action against absent officers in internal monitoring
Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak directed that the health teams should visit government departments once again and check the cleanliness and dengue larvae there. Departments where larvae are found even after issuing the certificate will be sealed. He said that duties of divisional heads have been assigned for internal monitoring in high-risk union councils, and there ia zero tolerance for absence. Internal monitors should ensure the quality of anti-dengue activities as well as provide full awareness to the people in their area. He said that we need cooperation from the public only to this extent that they may keep their houses clean and immediately report to the nearby hospital in case of fever.
On this occasion, in the briefing by the Health Department, it was informed that 114 confirmed patients have been reported in Rawalpindi district during the last 24 hours, after which the number of confirmed patients has reached 2504 so far this year. Out of them 2184 have been discharged after successful treatment while 306 are undergoing treatment in different hospitals. In the briefing, it was further informed that the violators of dengue SOPs pose a danger not only to themselves but also to the people around them. Therefore, strict punitive actions are been taken against those involved in violations in spite of repeated notices and warnings. Taking action against the violators, 49 FIRs, 11 challans and 13 buildings were sealed in Rawalpindi district during the last twenty-four hours, while a fine of Rs. 1,34,500 was also imposed.
