Srinagar, (PR) : The Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) has fully endorsed the All Parties Hurriyat Conference’s (APHC) call for peaceful protests on October 11, 2024, following Friday prayers. The protests are being held in response to the blasphemous remarks made by Hindu priest Yati Narsinghanand against Prophet Muhammad (SAW). JKSM urges the people of Kashmir, civil society members, religious scholars, and political leaders to unite and participate in this peaceful demonstration.

In a statement issued today, Dr. Irfan, Spokesman of JKSM, strongly condemned the inflammatory comments made by the priest, calling them a deliberate attempt to hurt the sentiments of Muslims globally. “These blasphemous statements are part of the rising wave of Islamophobia and xenophobia in India, which has made the Muslim community feel increasingly unsafe,” Dr. Irfan said.

JKSM calls upon the people of Kashmir to demonstrate their disapproval of such hateful acts through peaceful means. Dr. Irfan emphasized the significance of solidarity among religious scholars and civil society leaders in addressing this issue. “Our love for Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is unwavering, and we will not allow such malicious provocations to go unanswered. However, our response must be peaceful, yet firm,” he added.

Dr. Irfan, Spokesman of the Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), urged the people of Kashmir to come together and participate in peaceful protests after Jummah prayers on October 11, 2024, in response to the blasphemous remarks made by Hindu priest Yati Narsinghanand. He called on all sections of society—religious scholars, civil society, and political leaders—to unite in sending a strong message against the derogatory comments made about Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Dr. Irfan emphasized the importance of peaceful demonstrations to express collective outrage and to reaffirm the community’s unwavering respect and love for the Prophet (SAW).

The JKSM reiterates that this peaceful protest will send a powerful message that the Muslim community will not tolerate any disrespect toward their faith, and they will stand united in the defense of their religious values.
