Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : A meeting of the Regional Coordination Committee of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) AJK region for the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif initiative was held under the chairmanship of the Zonal Director BISP AJK. The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including representatives from the Education Department and the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD). The participants reviewed the progress of the program, focusing on critical issues such as school enrollment, attendance compliance, and the challenges faced in achieving the assigned targets in fields. All stakeholders committed to resolve obstacles, if any, to ensure the smooth implementation of the program. The Zonal Director of BISP AJK, Dr. Abdul Aziz Qurashi provided an update on the achievements of the BISP Kafaalat program. He noted that 65,260 BISP beneficiaries out of 120,543 have successfully received their financial support through biometric verification, achieving 54% of the target in the last 10 days. Furthermore, the Zonal Director highlighted the success of the BISP Taleemi Wazaif (education stipends) in the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), with 281376 children of BISP beneficiaries enrolled and benefiting from Benazir Taleemi Wazaif. The meeting concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to continue working collaboratively to overcome any remaining challenges and enhance the impact of the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif program for the betterment of education and financial support for the children of deserving families in AJK.
