Muzaffarabad: A protest was organized by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir against the 3rd phase of forced elections being held in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to details, a large number of citizens participated in the protest by waving black flags and held up banners on which condemnatory phrases were written.
Kashmiri protesters were shouting slogans against Indian military occupation and marched on the main highways till Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk.
Speakers on the occasion said that the elections in the occupied state held at gunpoint are conspiracies of the Indian government, however, there can be no substitute of the right to self-determination.
They maintained that Narendra Modi is dictating fake elections by imprisoning the actual leadership and political opponents of Occupied Kashmir.
“India wants arbitrary results by holding forced elections under the guise of brutal use of black laws in the occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir”, they added.
Speakers said that All-Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) is engaged in efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and Kashmiri consider APHC as the real leadership of Kashmiri people.
They stated that elections held at the gunpoint in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is not a solution to the Kashmir problem.
“India should show courage and fulfill its promises of Plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir under the watch of international observers”, they opined.
They said that India’s sole purpose of holding elections in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is to strengthen its illegal occupation and to hide the usual brutal regime in the region.
“India is staging an election drama in Occupied Kashmir to mislead the world about the real situation in the region”, they cautioned.
Speakers further said that India wants to legitimize its illegal actions of August 5, 2019 by staging elections in Occupied Kashmir.
“The Modi government cannot demoralize Kashmiris by arresting All-Party Hurriyat Conference leaders or banning pro-independence parties”, they reiterated.
Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Vice Chairman Usman Ali Hashim, Ghulam Hassan Butt, Chaudhry Muhammad Mushtaq, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Qazi Muhammad Khushal, Shaheen Abbasi, Muhammad Shafi Lone, Muhammad Aslam Inqalabi, Muhammad Akhtar Khan, Riaz Awan, Faisal Farooq Sheikh, Muhammad Fayyaz Khan, Munir Abbasi and Qari Aqil Shams were also present on the occasion.
