Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : Rawalpindi Cantt Board organized a seminar on dengue prevention awareness campaign in Saham Public School in which Additional CEO briefed the students on preventive measures against dengue.
He was accompanied by Chief Public Health Officer Nasir Hussain, Horticulture and Cantt Board staff.
The students were told that the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board is conducting dengue awareness sessions in schools and colleges, awareness walks, social media campaigns, programs, announcements in Masjids and other measures.
On the instructions of CEO Syed Ali Irfan Razvi, Additional CEO Umair Mehboob visited Saham, Chamanabad, New Westridge, and Misrial area.He said that where dengue cases are reported more, Rawalpindi Cantt Board staff will spray the houses on a daily basis besides outdoor fogging will also be increased.
The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board has widened the scope of surveillance in the anti-dengue campaign. Garbage is being removed from vacant plots and bushes from cemeteries in Saham areas.
On this occasion, the Additional CEO explained about the preventive measures against dengue and said that to eliminate the eggs and larvae of the dengue mosquito, discard the leftovers, any dry the standing water on things or places, and put sand or soil on wet or watery places.
Any kind of negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. It is good news that sanitation arrangements are being prioritized across the cantt to control the growth of dengue larvae for which we all have to play our part. Continuous monitoring is being done, the report of which is being prepared on daily basis,he said.
