The severe gas shortage in Balochistan has become a pressing issue that demands immediate attention. Despite contributing significantly to Pakistan’s natural resources, our province is struggling to receive a fair share of gas supply. Alarmingly, 15% of Pakistan’s gas production comes from Balochistan, yet the province itself faces an acute crisis. The consequences of this shortage are far-reaching. People are compelled to cut trees for firewood, leading to deforestation and environmental degradation. Women, including my mother and sister, endure the harsh weather conditions, walking miles to collect firewood. This primitive alternative is not only time-consuming but also hazardous. Daily life has come to a standstill. Cooking, heating, and other essential activities have become daunting challenges. Businesses are crippled, causing economic hardship and exacerbating the plight of the people. The lack of gas supply has transformed a basic necessity into a luxury. We, the people of Balochistan, urge the government to address this issue promptly. We request an equitable distribution of gas resources, prioritizing supply to our province. Immediate measures must be taken to alleviate the shortage and restore normalcy to our lives. We appeal to your sense of justice and responsibility, pleading for a swift resolution to this crisis. The people of Balochistan are worried and frustrated. We eagerly await your prompt action to mitigate our suffering.
