France, (PR): Former Acting Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf, met with Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Forum France and member of the Central Executive Committee of Pakistan Muslim League-N, along with other Kashmiri leaders. The meeting took place ahead of the 57th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. During the meeting, the Kashmiri delegation assured their full participation in a protest organized by the Kashmir Institute of International Relations, scheduled for Friday, September 20, at 10 AM.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf condemned India’s actions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, stating, “India is playing a bloody game in occupied Kashmir and conducting sham elections, which the Kashmiri nation will never accept.” He further added that the controversial redistricting in occupied Kashmir was carried out, and the BJP employed aggressive tactics to tighten its grip on the region.He also highlighted the detention of the entire Hurriyat leadership in their homes and pointed out the illegal steps taken by the Indian government on August 5, 2019. “Our struggle will continue until the end of Indian occupation and the achievement of the right to self-determination,” he declared.Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Forum France, reiterated the commitment of the Kashmiri community in France to actively participate in the protest. He emphasized that the diaspora has always raised the Kashmir issue on international platforms and will continue to do so. He urged the international community to take notice of the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him “a murderer of humanity.”
“We salute the courage and resilience of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. God willing, the day is not far when Kashmiris will attain their birthright—the right to self-determination,” Naeem Akhtar concluded.
