Islamabad (Parliament Times) : Getting an appointment to apply for a visa at Portugal Embassy is a nightmare for many people. Many such applicants are very disappointing right away, as every single time they email regarding making an appointment, they get a curt rejection email. As such, they have now opted for a peaceful protest outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, until their grievances are addressed.
From the provided information, it can be said that the personnel responsible for acting on visas to the Portugal Embassy simply decide to discard emails whenever they feel like, thus, leaving people in the wondering on the next action to take. Providing a petition to the Portuguese ambassador, one applicant posed the question, ‘Where do we go now’. “If this happens again, we will make our matter known to the international media,” he added.
Outside Gerry’s Office, media was alerted as dozens of applicants vented their anger to the cameras. One of the applicants, who was emotional, said, ‘I obtained my work visa for Portugal and Ireland it is valid for six months. For four months now I have been making emails requesting for an appointment but every time they will email me document citing different reasons of which include moderate as reinforcements but do not email the visa.’ In other words, asking just for the appointment, not the visa, which they manage to get over the email, but they still say no. In these months, they have raised too many and unreasonable objections. I have faxed all claims as required. The documents have been sent as specified and they are all disapproved with new bases. I am taking with me my family, our plan is to make peace and raise our case outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
