Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : The central chairperson of the Women’s Wing of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, ticket holder for Valley 6 Samia Sajid Raja, President of the Women’s Wing Poonch Division Shehnaz Javed Khawaja, and President of the Women’s Wing Mirpur Division Amra Khanum, in their joint statement, paid tribute to the ongoing, unparalleled struggle for the freedom of the Kashmiris. They acknowledged the immense and unmatched sacrifices made by Kashmiri men, women, and children for the cause of freedom.
For the past 75 years, the Indian army has continued its oppression and brutality against the Kashmiris. Despite India’s tyranny and oppression, the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir are bravely continuing their struggle for self-determination in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions. They said that the international community should take notice of the atrocities being committed by India against the Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir, and the Kashmiris should be granted the right to self-determination as per the UN resolutions.
They further stated that the oppressed Kashmiris, who have been subjected to Indian atrocities, have been looking to the international community for a long time for their right to self-determination. The actions of the extremist Modi government in occupied Kashmir, which are against international laws, pose a threat to world peace. The entire region has been turned into a prison, and the world must immediately take notice of the Indian brutalities. The right to live freely is a fundamental human right, but the entire world’s silence on the atrocities against Kashmiris is condemnable. Freedom is the destiny of the Kashmiris, and no one can stop it.
The only solution to the Kashmir issue is through the implementation of United Nations resolutions, and the right to self-determination is a fundamental right that will eventually be granted. Samia Sajid Raja, Shehnaz Javed Khawaja, and Amra Khanum urged international human rights organizations to take necessary action to stop the violence and widespread mistreatment by Indian forces against Kashmiri women in the occupied region.
Highlighting the plight of Kashmiri women, they said that as a vulnerable segment of society, they have borne the brunt of Indian state terrorism. Horrifying incidents of sexual violence, like those in Kunan Poshpora, point to the dreadful situation faced by Kashmiri women. The inhumane atrocities of the occupying Indian forces have not diminished the Kashmiris’ passion for freedom. The day is not far when the unyielding sacrifices of the Kashmiris will bear fruit, and India’s unholy presence will be uprooted from the land of Kashmir.
The Women’s Wing of the Muslim Conference called on the international community and the United Nations to take practical steps to grant the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir their recognized and inherent right to self-determination. If the Kashmir issue is not resolved, the dream of establishing peace in the region will remain unfulfilled.
