Our Special Jammu and Kashmir state Correspondent and Resident Editor Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur that while addressing members of the press club here on Friday, the KPC President , however, categorically said that journalist community was the custodian of the sanctity of the pen and they will not ever compromise on the sanctity of the pen”, he added.
He continued as saying ” Kashmir Press Club Mirpur is a prestigious organization of local journalists housing the seasoned professional working journalists affiliated with international, national and the regional electronic and print media.
” This could be assessed through the ongoing regular visits of elders from all classes of the society including representatives of private and public sector organisations who used to visit the press club to congratulate the newly unopposed elected office bearers and executive committee members of the press club on their lanslide victory as elected unanimously by the bonafide members of the press club, he added.
” I am grateful from the bottom of my heart to all my friends and sympathisers from all schools of thought who felicitated me and other office bearers of the club, Shah sahib said.
The KPC President said that all journalist members of the press club, including his self, fully respect and honour the sanctity of decisions of the judiciary and believe in the supremacy of law and justice.
Syed Abid Hussain Shah added that Kashmir Press Club’s doors were always open for the citizens since its members were always determined to play their vibrant role to highlight the problems of the masses through the best of their high intelect and pen bringing the public grievances in the notice of the state government through their columns and TV screens for early redressal, through unbiased reporting with full integrity.and unity in their ranks, he concluded.
