Wherever we go, we become the identity of Pakistan.Artists are apolitical. Their life and death are connected with art.It is not acceptable to see injustice done to art or artists under any circumstances.Rawalpindi Arts Council should be freed from political interference. If the rights of the artistes are revoked without any reason, the artistes of the twin cities will be forced to protest.Artists appeal to Pakistan Muslim League-N government for justice.
Asma Butt said in a special conversation with journalists that I spent 30 years of my life in the service of art and artist. This is the reason why my services are highly appreciated and respected in the cultural and artistic sectors of Pakistan today.Pakistan is my identity. It is my desire to spend my entire life serving my country and art.She further said that artists have a sensitive heart. They give voice to sensitive emotions and feelings. Artists are innocent people, you will never find hypocrisy or dirty political attitudes in them.
Asma Butt said that it is sad when artists are stopped from working, or obstacles are placed in their work.Artists can never tolerate their disrespect. Political interference in Rawalpindi Arts Council should be stopped. This interference is in no way acceptable to the artists. She further said that such political elements who are arbitrarily elected on reserve seats on the Rawalpindi Arts Council. It is suggested for them that they should go to the assemblies and raise their voices on public issues, serve the people, what will they do to solve the problems of the artists who could not get four votes, have they ever done anything for the welfare of the artists. No, neither do the artists expect anything from them. They should remain under their jurisdiction. Rawalpindi Arts Council is for artists, so it should be limited to artists. We know how to do our job. Because the artists are the ones who make it. If the artists come out on the streets, it will be difficult to manage them. She said that since the political interference started, the doors of the Rawalpindi Arts Council have been closed to the artists. If the process of usurping the legitimate rights of the artists is not stopped, the artists will be forced to protest.Asma Butt, representing the artists, appealed to the government of Pakistan Muslim League-N to play a positive and fair role in keeping the institutions made for artists free from politics.
