Lahore, (PR) : SNGPL’s ongoing campaign against gas theft continues to gain momentum, with 55 additional illegal connections disconnected across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. The crackdown has resulted in the imposition of fines amounting to Rs 1.2 million.
In Lahore, three illegal gas connections were severed, along with 14 more due to compressor misuse. Faisalabad saw the disconnection of one illegal connection, alongside a fine of Rs 0.02 million. The Sheikhupura team imposed a penalty of Rs 0.29 million for gas theft. In Multan, 10 illegal connections were severed, and two more were disconnected for compressor misuse. The team in Sahiwal cut two illegal connections. In Rawalpindi, two connections were terminated for illegal use, and four more for compressor misuse. In Peshawar and Karak, four connections were disconnected, and fines of Rs 0.276 million were imposed for theft. The Mardan team took action against 10 illegal connections, imposing fines of Rs 0.4 million. In Gujranwala, two illegal connections were cut off, one for compressor misuse, and a total fine of Rs 0.27 million was lodged.
