    WPC organizes a seminar to prevent increasing trend of suicide among women in Azad Kashmir

    Musaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : Organized by the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, a seminar was organized to prevent the increasing trend of suicide among women in Azad Kashmir and to address the social issues of women. Adviser to the Government, Chairperson Women Caucus Nisara Abbasi was the host of the seminar, among other women guests were Minister of Government Prof. Taqdees Geelani. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Ms. Nabila Ayub, Ms. Dr. Farzana Farah, Ms. Hasna Noor, Ms. Saira Chishti, Ms. Sajda Geelani, SSP Kamran Ali, Ms. Dr. Dar Shahwar Naqvi, Ms. Nayla Altaf Kayani, Ms. Naseem Mir, Ms. Khizra A large number of civil society, women and officers including Umar, Ms. Noreen Khawar have participated.The ceremony was officially started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The recitation was given by Shaista Gilani while Ms. Ajala Fayyaz recited Naat Rasool Maqbool ?. Addressing the seminar on this occasion, Advisor to the Government Nisara Abbasi said that all possible measures should be taken for the protection of women. Respect is a big thing, relationships are built with respect, when women’s self-esteem is hurt, suicide tends to increase. Relationships do not last long in family life. Women should be empowered to decide. He said that we have to get out of caste and community. We should give women right to property not dowry. It is a sad fact that in our society marriage is sought as a solution for a mentally ill personYes, this is a big mistake and it should be addressed. The advisor to the government said that women should have the right to think freely about their future. Double standards must be eliminated from the society. Women need to be respected. Women should support other women. Domestic abuses must be eradicated. Economic, psychological, social and social media blackmailing has to be eradicated. He said that girls should inform their parents and siblings about the problems. Education is the necessary path, change is possible through education and awareness. He said that girls should be preferred in marriages. People should be given the right to live. Women have to be strong. To protect women from cheating in the society, awareness campaign should be made public.
