Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Ch. Anwarul Haq in his message termed September as an important milestone in the military history of Pakistan and army’s significant contribution in defending the country’s territorial integrity. The entire Kashmiri nation, he said, salutes the supreme sacrifices of all those brave-hearts who laid down their lives for the defense of Pakistan.”Kashmiris living on both sides of the ceasefire line consider Pakistan as their protector while Indian army serve as a symbol of hatred for Kashmiris”, the PM said.He said that Pakistan Army has rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the defense of the motherland and was fully capable of thwarting any foreign aggression.Lauding the professional capabilities of the Pakistan army, Air Force, the Navy forces, the AJK premier said that September 6 stands testmony to the fact that ” Pakistan Army is one of the best and strongest armies in the world that has all the potential and capability to defend the country under any circumstances”.He added that the nation has full faith and confidence in the capabilities of the Pakistan Army.
Voicing their concern over the fast deteriorating political and human rights situation in the Indian occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the president and prime minister said that Kashmiri people have made unprecedented sacrifices for their inalienable right, the right to self determination.
They, however, maintained that despite using all means of oppression the Indian government has miserably failed to suppress Kashmiris’ freedom struggle.
The duo expressed their optimism that the day was not far off when Kashmiri people will achieve their goal of freedom. Demanding an end to the continued bloodshed and violence in the Indian occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir, they said, talks process between India and Pakistan at any level won’t be successful unless India stops the ruthless persecution of Kashmiris.
Stressing the need for an early settlement of the lingering dispute, they said that instead of weaving cobwebs of confusion around Kashmir issue, the India government should create a congenial atmosphere for the talks and put an immediate end to bloodshed in the region so that a tangible progress can be made on the issue of Kashmir .India, they said, cannot hold Kashmiris’ hostage for too long. “Sooner or later India will have to quit Kashmir and grant Kashmiris their birthright”, they maintained.
