Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : All Kashmir Newspaper Society “AKNS” welcomed the approval of the Social Protection Program and Zakat Act initiated by the Government of Azad Kashmir for public welfare and expressed the expectation that the initiative of government of Azad Kashmir that has been gained, will be maintained.
Speaking at the reception in honor of President AKNS Amjad Chaudhry, Vice President Abid Abbasi, Member Central Executive Ishtiaq Atish and Shehzad Lulabi, while Ex-President Central Press Club Syed Afaq Hussain Shah, Ex-President Central Press Club Sohail Mughal, AKNS senior leaders Zaheer Ahmed Jagwal, Sarfaraz Khawaja, Naseer Anwar, Shehzad Lulabi, Abid Abbasi, Ishtiaq Atesh, Mohsin Khawaja, Tanveer Tanoli, Khawaja Abdul Rasheed, Sardar Zulfikar Ali, Former Secretary Finance Javed Iqbal Chaudhry, Raja Shahid and others have expressed this expectation that Azad Kashmir government along with other institutions will play its full role for the development of media in Azad Kashmir.
On this occasion, the government was demanded to fulfill its promises in terms of social media registration policy, improvement in the method of distribution of advertisements, immediate amendment in the PAPRA Rules.
On this occasion, the commitment was reiterated that AKNS would be promoted in consultation with the presidential candidate Zaid Tabasim and his team. President KNS Muhammad Amjad Chaudhry thanked the AKNS members for re-electing him for the second term and made it clear that he had no personal agenda, he was with the organization and treated all newspapers equally.
He said that we have tried in the past for those newspapers whose advertisements are closed and we will continue this process. Scrutiny of motives and inclusion of AKNF as a permanent member in the Press Foundation and in other respects committees will be formed which will take steps to solve the problems and inform the organization in their weekly report.
He said that Sardar Zahid Tabasim has increased the strength of the organization by participating in the presidential election, that he is the founding president of AKNS.
He further added that “I have no personal disagreement with him, after the election, I consider him as my brother and colleague,”
