Pallandri, (Parliament Times) :Teachers and other employees of Cadet College Pallandri strongly protested against government increase in salaries and non-payment of other allowances along with other irregularities. The college was closed for two weeks due to the fear of confrontation between the employees and the management.

According to the details, there was severe tension between the employees and the management over salaries, allowances and other irregularities. The teachers said that whenever the government increased their salaries, they were not paid on time even though they render their services to the college 24/7. The increase is usually given at the end of the year. .The same is done for annual growth. Sometimes this period increases up to 2 years. Whenever the administration is requested to rectify the matter, the excuse of lack of funds is made even though the administration has never faced the problem of lack of funds for its royal expenditure.

Other employees have taken a stand that the minimum monthly wage of any employee for 8 hours of work has been set at 38,000 by the government. Whereas in Cadet College Pallandri , only 12,000 to 20,000 is given for 12 hours of work while no other facilities are available to them.

When the teachers and other employees drew the attention of the principal several times , he did nothing .Two weeks ago, when the employees announced a strike, the principal assured them that he would solve the matter by September 1, 2024, otherwise the principal would also join the strike to increase pressure on the government. But now the principal has come down on threats.

On the other hand, due to the sudden closure of the college, students and parents are very worried that how they can take their innocent children home in this rainy season where there is always a severe risk of landslides. They made it clear to the government that if anything happens to their innocent children, the Principal Cadet College Pallandri will be responsible for it.
