Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) ; President Rawalpindi Restaurants Caterers Sweets and Bakers Association Pakistan Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry has announced support for the nationwide trade strike of August 28.He demanded that the government should review the tax policy. Consultation with businessmen should be made mandatory while making the tax policy.We have reduced our expenses, is the government ready to reduce its expenses?
He said this while explaining his association’s point of view on the nationwide strike to journalists yesterday.
On this occasion he was accompanied by Chairman Association Mumtaz Ahmed, Vice Chairman Saleem Raza Butt, Senior Vice President Huzaifa Ansar, Senior Member Finance Sheikh Munir, Vice President Chaudhry Shahzad, Vice President Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood, Information Secretary Tariq Khan, Chaudhry Sharafat Ali, Chaudhry Muhammad Hafeez, Sheikh Nayir Feroze, Sheikh Imran Elahi, Naveed Abbasi, Abdul Qadeer Abbasi and others were also present.
Association President Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry said that everyone knows the purpose for which they have gathered today, we are being forced to strike.I say with confidence that the government does not want to collect taxes because businessmen are already paying all kinds of taxes.He said that The Punjab government is charging us two rupees and twenty four paise sales tax on Pateer Roti worth Rs.14.Despite this, fines ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 100,000 are being imposed on us.All kinds of additional taxes are being imposed on the traders associated with the food Mohammed FarooQ Chudhary said that The injustice has been brought to an end.The one who is selling chai paratha is being fined up to 60 thousand rupees.I request the government to review the tax policy. We reduce the expenses of our shops,Is the government ready to reduce its expenses? Like ordinary citizens, the rulers also came on thirteen hundred cc vehicles.Mohammad Farooq Chaudhry further said that we are being forced to protest. Therefore, we declare our support for this nationwide strike.
