Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Pakistan Engineering Council) former member of the governing body Engineer Sheikh Zahoor Sarwar has said that the doors of the Pakistan Engineering Council has been closed for local manufacturers and they are not allowed to register, due to which there is a burden on domestic imports. The only solution is to support local manufacturers, PEC has been monopolized by mafias who are only focused on their own business and personal gains, policies have been made that make PEC of engineers License buying and selling business is rampant, no contractor, consultant or company can participate in any government contract unless it is registered with PEC, booking of rooms of billions of five star hotels and TADA and Shahs are flown at great expense, many members have access to two cars and hundreds of kilometers of free petrol, banquets are flown in the middle of the sea while sitting on ships, dancing and dancing in teachers’ conferences for the development of education. Sarood concert is organized, Sheikh Zahoor Sarwar expressed these views while addressing a press conference at the National Press Club, Islamabad. The fee is four to five lakh rupees on average. In the registration, there is a condition that every small company should hire two or three engineers and a big company should hire 15 to 20 engineers per month. Instead of hiring engineers, companies buy their licenses for one year. The rate of such purchase and sale is from Rs. 100,000 per year for civil engineers to Rs. 25,000 per year for mechanical and electrical engineers, ie Rs. 2,000 per month. Engineers are expensive, parents make their children engineers by spending lakhs of rupees and this mafia has started this annual business instead of keeping engineers on monthly salary, more than 150,000 engineers have fixed jobs and their situation is not satisfactory. The new generation is starting to hate engineering, where the engineering student graph was going up, it is now at an all-time low in major universities.
