Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : Prime Minister Ch. Anwarul Haq said that women Lawyers’ role was crucial for establishing rule of law, merit and constitutional supremacy in the state.
The PM said this while talking to a delegation of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Women Lawyers Forum that called on him here today.
Led by advocate Bilqis Rashid Minhas the delegation was comprised of Kausar Parveen Awan Advocate, Alia Abdul Rehman Advocate, Barrister Maham Fadia Advocate, Rubiya Butt Advocate, Syeda Samia Shah Advocate, Quratul Ain Mehr Advocate and Maryam Farooq Advocate.
Speaking on the occasion, the PM appreciated women Lawyers’ significant contribution to society. He said that women lawyers can play their pivotal role in bringing a positive change in the society.He said that a spirit of unity and togetherness was required to strengthen the system and state institutions.”It is high time that we must stop playing petty politics that thrives on communalism, regionalism and bigotry”, the PM said.He said that concerted efforts were needed to eliminate injustice and deprivation from the society.
The Prime Minister said that he didn’t believe in empty assurances but actions. He said that people’s tax money was being spent on the welfare of people.”Recruitments are being made on merit through the Public Service Commission and NTS”, he said, adding that additional funds have been provided to improve health care facilities across the state. He said that the government has adopted zero tolerance approach to corruption and it’s trickle down effect was being felt at gross root level.The PM said that his sole mission was to provide a dignified life to the downtrodden section of the society.
He said that special fund worth 5 billion rupees has been allocated to address growing unemployment in the region.”Under this scheme interest-free loans will be provided to skilled men and women so that they could earn a dignified livelihood’, he said.On this occasion, the visiting delegates appreciated the incumbent government’s good governance initiatives and people-friendly policies.
