Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq while reiterating his commitment to public service has said that welfare of people was his government’s sole mission.
The PM said this while addressing 27th cabinet meeting held here today.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, ”
Providing basic amenities of life to the people including education and health are among the top priorities of the coalition government”.
The PM said that the government would use all available resources for the development and prosperity of the state.
Terming impartial accountability as a key component of effective governance, he said that merit system has been restored and its effective implementation would be ensured.
He asked the cabinet ministers to adopt a self-monitoring mechanism to ensure development works in their respective constituencies and utilisation of the government funds was made properly.
The meeting was attended by cabinet ministers including Colonel Retd Waqar Ahmad Noor, Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid, Mian Abdul Waheed, Ahmad Raza Qadri, Abdul Majid Khan, Faheem Akhtar Rabbani, Ms. Imtiaz Naseem, Ms. Taqdees Gilani, Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad, Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, Chaudhry Akbar Ibrahim, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, Muhammad Akmal Sargala, Sardar Amir Altaf, Nisar Ansar Abdali, Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, Diwan Ali Khan Chaghtai and Malik Muhammad Zafar. Whereas Additional Chief Secretary Development, Additional Chief Secretary General, Principal Secretary, Information Secretary and other pertinent officials of the government were present on the occasion.
Pertinently, the cabinet meeting took a number of decisions the decisions that included ratification of its previous decisions, waiving of divorce registration fee, and electricity bill of the mosques UpTo 200 units.
Besides granting approval to right sizing of Awqaf department, the cabinet also approved the formation of a committee under the chairmanship of Government Minister Sardar Amir Altaf Khan.
The committee has been tasked to submit its report to the cabinet within 7 days.
The cabinet also approved the amendment of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Criminal Law and right-sizing of Azad Kashmir Department of Electricity.
The meeting also decided to present the Azad Kashmir Building Control Act 2024 in the assembly for final approval.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet decided to present its recommendations regarding a comprehensive transfer policy in the Azad Kashmir Education Department to the Cabinet within 7 days.
Moreover, a committee under the chairmanship of government Minister Mian Abdul Waheed was constituted to investigate the matter relating to the illegal allotment in Langarpura and Thotha satellite towns.
The committee has been asked to submit its recommendations to the Cabinet within in a month.
