Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry President Restaurant Caterers Sweets and Bakers Association expressed his concerns about checking Roti inside restaurants and said that restaurants can never be compared with Tandoors, in restaurants we provide quality services to our customers.We Paid various taxes. The tariff of tandoor is 700 per mmbtu, while the tariff of restaurants is 3900 per mmbtu, so the price of Roti inside restaurants cannot be checked.Khoaja Shehzad Chairman District Price Control Committee agreed to concern of President Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry and said that a meeting will be held soon regarding the rates of Roti in the restaurants and this issue will be resolved.
On Wednesday, the private members of the District Price Control Committee and Trades had an important meeting with Khawaja Shahzad, Chairman of the District Price Control Committee.In which Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry President Restaurants Caters Sweets and Bakers Association, Saleem Parvez Butt Patron General Grocery Association Punjab, Zahoor Bhatti President Flour Mill Dealers Association, Waqar Malik President Malik Association, Zaheer Abbas Abbasi President Poultry Retailers Association, Javed Qureshi President Jamiat Al-Quraish, Naeem Qureshi Jamiat Al-Quraish, Raja Habib specially participated.On this occasion, Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry, President of Restaurant Caterers Sweets and Bakers Association informed about his concerns on checking of Roti inside restaurants.He said that restaurants can never be compared with tandoor, in restaurants we provide services and pay all kinds of taxes including sales tax.He said that tariff of tandoor is 700 per MMBTU while the tariff of restaurants is 3900 per MMBTU.Therefore, the price of Roti inside the restaurants cannot be checked, on which Khawaja Shahzad Chairman District Price Control Committee said that the issue will be resolved soon by holding a meeting regarding the rates of Roti inside the restaurants. A solution will be provided, however, parcel Roti will not be allowed to be sold above the rates fixed by the government.
In the meeting, the President of Grocery Association Punjab, Rawalpindi Salim Parvez Butt said that the retailer’s rates should be determined by looking at the rates of the wholesale markets, District Price Control Committee meeting should be held twice every month.Later new rates should be set, Punjab Food Authority is doing excellent work, we appreciate its performance.Zaheer Abbasi, president of Poultry Retailer Association, said that rates should be fixed with appropriate margin without cutting the market rates that come out of Lahore.Jamiat al-Quraish President Javed Qureshi demanded that the rates of the slaughter house should be fixed and a legitimate profit margin should be given on it so that the common shopkeeper does not face any problem.Zahoor Bhatti, president of Flour Mill Dealers Association, said that flour rates should be determined according to mill rates.Waqar Malik, president of Milk Association, said that the rates of milk and curd should be determined by keeping a suitable margin on the rates of the dairy farm so that even small shopkeepers can earn their jobs with dignity.
On this occasion, other participants also informed about their concerns, on which Khawaja Shahzad assured positive progress in the next few days.Finally, all the traders also thanked Zahoor Bhatti President Flour Mill Dealers Association who organized an important meeting on the problems of the traders.On this occasion, the private members of Price Control Committee congratulated Khawaja Shehzad for becoming the Chairman of the Price Control Committee.
