Syed Qamar Raza presides over 175th meeting of the Board of Governors of OPF

Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), presided over the 175th meeting of the Board of Governors of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Islamabad to discuss, besides normal agenda, future strategy & ideas to be adopted for a better and effective service delivery concerning issues of Pakistani diaspora abroad. The Board of Governors (BoG) of Overseas Pakistanis has recently been reconstituted under the Chairmanship of Syed Qamar Raza, a prominent Pakistani businessman & philanthropist based in UK. Besides ex-officio members, the following independent members, (in addition to the Chairman, BoG Syed Qamar Raza) are also nominated in BoG of OPF:-
1. MR. Shaheen Khalid Butt
2. Mr.Afzal Bhatti
3. Mr. Shamsher Ali Rao
4. Ms Onaza Ehsan Butt
5. Mr.Muhammad Kamran (coopted member for his professional expertise)
6. Mr.Jehanzeb Iqbal Baig (coopted member for his professional expertise)
In his welcoming remarks, Chairman, BoG Syed Qamar Raza thanked the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for reposing confidence on him and appointing him as Chairman, BoG, OPF. He reiterated his dedicated commitment to serve expatriates in line with vision of the Prime Minister. He informed the participants of the meeting about his result-oriented approach and informed the participants about few initial welfare measures being launched by Overseas Pakistanis Foundation for the betterment of approximately 1.2 million Pakistani diasporas abroad. He also assured that he and his team (Board Members) will work & available 24/7 to accomplish mission of facilitating overseas Pakistanis by redressing their grievances swiftly. He also reaffirmed his allegiance to make OPF a model organization not only in term of service delivery but also making it self-sufficient with noticeable change within next six months. He also asked the management of OPF to work with zeal and zest with his vision so as to achieve the desired results within a short possible time.
Chairman, Syed Qamar Raza also thanked the Board Members for attending the meeting and sharing invaluable inputs during the meeting. The following committees were also constituted in the meeting: –
(i) Audit & Finance Committee of OPF to be headed Mr.Afzaal Bhatti
(ii) Housing & Works, OPF to be headed by Mr.Shaheen Khalid Butt,
(iii) Human Resource and Education, to be headed jointly by Ms Onaza Ehsan Butt & Ch Kamran (co-opted)
(iv) Welfare Committee to be headed by Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman, BoG
