Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times): 25 medical stores were closed in Bamhar for selling prohibited drugs and for violating the laws under the Drug Act, while 11 closed their stores by themselves. Pharmacists, not dispensers, will run medical stores, doctors cannot run medical stores. The Public Health Department came out with full force against the drug mafia, timely delivery of drugs to the medical centers established in all rural areas, apart from timely provision of medicines for dog bites and snake bites to the people and insulin to diabetes patients.
Under the instructions and guidance of the Prime Minister Azad Kashmir, Health Minister Azad Kashmir, DHO Public Health Department Muzaffarabad Dr. Amir Shehzad and his team including Drug Inspector Fauzia Ashraf, Store Officer Along with Saeed Abbasi, he started working in the areas of his jurisdiction, including snake bite dog bite vaccination for diabetes patients and other medicines in abundance to the respective centers, besides the responsibilities of providing the best health to the citizens and the people of the area.
Liaison consultation process was also started with the pharmaceutical association including providing facilities and cracking down on the drug mafia. Including providing medicines at 125 centers and selling prohibited medicines across the city and giving licenses to those working at medical stores. While formulating a policy regarding the same, the licenses of many have been canceled. Talking to the media yesterday, Dr. Amir Shehzad Chaudhry said that there is no doubt that the media is playing the role of the eyes, ears and tongue of the society. He said that after the amendment of the drug laws in 2021. More than 25 licenses were canceled according to forms 9, 10, 11 in consultation with the pharmacist. Only pharmacists are allowed to work. He said that highly dynamic trained drug inspector Madam Fauzia Ashraf has destroyed 80% of prohibited drugs. Drug distributors are being brought under the law. On this occasion, Store Officer Saeed Abbasi also inspected the seized drugs and the drugs in his store.
