Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Pakistan Engineering Council – PEC conducted an event titled as Launching of STEM Education Drive & Other PPDC Initiatives at Bahria University, Islamabad on May 29, 2024 (Wednesday). Wherein, the Chief Guest was Engr. Muhammad Najeeb Haroon, Chairman, PEC & the event was presided by Rear Admiral Zaka ur Rehman HI(M), DG, Academics, Bahria University, Islamabad.
Rear Admiral Zaka ur Rehman HI(M), Director General, Academics, Bahria University, Islamabad, underscored the university’s dedication for providing cutting-edge education and skill development opportunities that align with global standards. He applauded PEC and especially the working of PPDC committee for its comprehensive approach to student development, which includes academic excellence, professional skills, and personal growth.
Engr. Mir Masood Rashid’s presentation emphasized the collaborative efforts required to make STEM education accessible and effective. He detailed the various components of the PEC STEM Education Drive, including partnerships with educational institutions and industry stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and practical learning experience for students. He further briefed the audience about the ten (10) initiatives of PEC-Pakistan Development Committee (PPDC) i.e. STEM Education, Day Trip Learning, Annual Financing Scheme of Final Year Design Projects, Engineering Capstone Expo, PEC E-Library, Helping Industries by providing Internee Engineers, Graduate Internship Training , PEC E-Gateway, UNSDGS Adoption, Engineer Parliamentarians caucus.
Engr. Muhammad Najeeb Haroon, Chairman, PEC with great enthusiasm announced the launch of our new STEM Education drive. He further elaborated that this initiative is a pivotal step in ensuring that our students are equipped with the critical skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Our goal is to provide comprehensive resources, dynamic learning environments, and hands-on experiences that will inspire and engage our students. By nurturing their curiosity and creativity, we aim to build a robust foundation for their future careers and contributions to society. He also expressed his commendation for the innovative initiatives undertaken by the PEC Pakistan Development Committee (PDC) aimed at advancing engineering excellence and fostering sustainable development across Pakistan.
