ATTOCK: Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza has urged youth to equip themselves with the market based skills as it is the “only” key to address the growing menace of poverty and unemployment in the country. He was addressing a cheque distribution ceremony among students of Government vocational training institute (TEVTA) Attock on Monday.
He said that Attock has much potential as it is located at the crossroads of CPEC and the proposed economic zone besides the hub of defense industries, therefore the youth of the area should have equipped themselves with the market based technologies to get employment opportunities in their home district. Mr Raza has informed that “learn and Learn program” has successfully launched in the district under which more than fifty IT labs of government schools in Attock district have been upgraded with a cost of around 250 million rupees, which is a unique initiative in the history of the district. He also informed the secretary that the teachers who received training under this initiative imparted IT education in 24 different boys and girls government schools across the district on a professional basis. “Male and female students can follow the path of economic self-sufficiency through freelancing, graphic designing and other related courses”. He added. Later he distributed cheques among the students who have completed different skills programs.
