The national language ought to bring people together, yet in Pakistan, Urdu has bred animosity and division between the two main political factions. Campaign for the Language of Bengaliis acknowledged as one of the most pivotal events in Pakistan’s history since it laid the groundwork for the linguistic nationalism that gave rise to Bangladesh. The national dialogue issue led to national discord and, to some extent, bleeding riots in Sind. It is important to remember that Urdu was not officially recognized as the national language of Pakistan until 1947. It is time to give Pakistani languages, including Urdu, the respect they deserve, and people should be given the chance to study or speak them. The greatest solution to this problem is the advancement of regional dialects in their respective domains. Nearby dialects must be taught through our educational system, and education for those who are younger should be at a basic level. It is possible to disregard the disdain shown by different ethnic groups, such as those who speak Urdu and include Punjabis, Pathans, Sindhis, Balochis, and others. The nation can achieve peace and prosperity in the future by effectively handling the dialect problem. The goal of this study was to reinterpret the significance of the Urdu language for Pakistani politics and subcontinental politics. Additionally, an effort has been made to fix the mysterious issue.Considering why Urdu has consistently been the subject of debates, historical evidence has demonstratedthat the imposition of Urdu by force caused the people of East Pakistan to become resentful early on, which ultimately contributed to the country’s dissolution. This essay has also made an effort to dispel many misconceptions about British rule and their detrimental linguistic regulations toward Urdu. The study demonstrates that the British were not solely to blame for the Urdu language’s decline; rather, the policies regarding the language were a mixture of both. This study gives potential for more research into the role that Urdu plays in a nation where language is being used for political purposes.
