Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Aurangzeb Tanoli Secretary General All Pakistan Railways Pensioners Association and other officials appealed to the Governor State Bank of Pakistan and the Federal Secretary for Finance Islamabad to remove the condition of submitting the biometric / life certificate in banks before March 10. It will not be possible to submit biometric/life certificate of pensioners in time before March 10. If the decision is not revised immediately, pensioners will lose their right around Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.

He said this during an emergency meeting of All Pakistan Railways Pensioners Association. Chairman Aslam Adil Butt presided over the meeting. The leaders of All Pakistan Railways Pensioners Association said in their position that they request to consider the circular issued by State Bank of Pakistan for pensioners on 1st February 2024. In which the pensioners have been instructed to get their biometric/life certificate done before March 10, otherwise their account will be deactivated and pension will not come. During the meeting it was unanimously decided to request the Governor State Bank of Pakistan that 10 days is too short. For this please give time till 20 March at least. So that the workload does not increase on banks and pensioners who live in remote villages. They can also submit biometric/life certificate etc. On this occasion Aurangzeb Tanuli Secretary General All Pakistan Railways Pensioners Association along with other colleagues issued a statement on the decision of Governor State Bank of Pakistan and Federal Secretary for Finance Islamabad. Requested a review and said that railway pensioners will be greatly affected by this decision and will also lose their monthly pension. Ramadan Mubarak and Eid-ul-Fitr are near. It is very important to take quick action in this regard. The problem can be solved immediately.
