Rawalakot (Parliament Times) : A huge rally was held in Rawalakot District Complex under the auspices of the district administration and all parties regarding Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5.
The rally was led by Deputy Commissioner Poonch Mumtaz Kazmi, Mayor Municipal Corporation Sardar Abdul Naeem Khan, Ex-Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Khalid Mehmood, Ex-Minister Government Sardar Tahir Anwar Advocate, Ex-Chairman Pearl Development Authority snf Ex-Administrator Municipal Corporation Rawalakot Sardar Arshad Niazi, President Muslim Conference Poonch Sardar Azhar Nazar, Deputy Mayor Qazi Nisar,Pakistan People’s Party leader Sardar Aamir Khurshid, Dr. Abdul Quddoos, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Aamir Rafiq, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s Taimur Qayyum, Jammu Kashmir People’s Party’s Mahmood Sabir, Irfan Rafiq, district officers, civil society, municipal Representatives, political and social religious figures, teachers and students including people of all schools of thought were present in the rally.
At 9: 58 minutes, a minute’s silence was observed by sounding the siren. On this occasion, a wide flag of Kashmir and Pakistan and a chain of human hands made a rally started from District Complex Rawalskot. The rally took a huge public form at the Boys Degree College after passing through the Kachhari Chowk.
Addressing the rally, the speakers congratulated the Deputy Commissioner Poonch and his team for organizing the program.
Addressing the rally while speaking, the speakers said that today was the day of Kashmiris, today we expressed our resolve that occupied Kashmir will be free soon.
The people of Rawalakot have made great sacrifices in the freedom movement of Kashmir. Ghazi Millat Sardar Ibrahim Khan, Captain Hussain Khan martyred and Martyrs of Dothan were also from this region while the people of Poonch played a significant role in liberating other districts of Azad Kashmir from Dogra.
In the movement in Occupied Kashmir in 2012, many people of Poonch risked their lives and kept the candle of freedom burning. Kashmir Solidarity Day is a national cause for which we should all inform the whole world about the atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Poonch thanked all the participants of the procession and said that Kashmir Solidarity Day has been commemorated for 35 years. It is being commemorated continuously since we are in twenty camps and living in free atmospheres. We get one day in the year in which we should show full solidarity with our oppressed brothers and sisters of Occupied Kashmir and we want to send a message to the United Nations that Due to the resolutions of the United Nations, Kashmiris are still not being given their right, India is breaking mountains of atrocities on Kashmiris and the United Nations is not playing any role in this regard.
While Aamir Khurshid, Aamir Rafiq, Azhar Karim, Nair Ashraf, Waheed Ashraf, Mufti Mahfoz, Rizwan Khalid, Shahid Khurshid, Khawaja Sajjad and other speakers also addressed the rally.
At the end of the rally, a special prayer was offered after which a memorandum was also presented to the United Nations representatives at Brigadier Headquarters Rawalakot, in which it was emphasized to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiris in the light of the resolutions presented by the United Nations Security Council.
Among those who presented the resolution to resolve Kashmir peacefully through referendum were Sardar Tahir Anwar Advocate Ex-Minister of Government, Dr. Abdul Qudoos, Sardar Shazeb Bashir, Sardar Anwar, Qazi Nisar Deputy Mayor, and Syed Azhar Shah.
