Taxila : The future of dozens of students studying in Oaks School located in Wah Cantonment is at stake as the federal board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) Islamabad has withheld their results attributing the non-payment of examination fees.
Dozens of students and parents are passing through agony, sleepless nights, and anxiety, thanks to gross negligence and careless attitude of the management of the private college as the FBISE has halted their results from last week due to non-payment of their fees.
The affected students told newsmen that they appeared in the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (HSSC) part II in October 2023 after paying the requisite fees to the management of Oaks School located near Opal Chowk Wah Cantonment. The students were of the view that even though the board had announced the results of the students who appeared on the examination the board administration halted the results of students on the pretext that their fees are not duly paid. On the other hand, students were of the view that they had paid all the requisite fees to the college administration and they are now paying the price of the negligence and careless attitude of the management of the college. The parents of the affected students told newsmen that they become shuttle cock between the college administration and FBISE Islamabad for the release of the results of their respective wards. They said that they visited the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) Islamabad office to get the release of the results but they refused to release the result on the plea that they should consult the respective college and asked them to pay their outstanding dues while on the other hand, college administration said that they have paid their dues.
When contacted, Owais Ahmed Khan owner and principal of the college confirmed that results of the some students who appeared in the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (HSSC) part-II under the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) Islamabad are halted due to some “technical reasons”. Responding to a question, he said that the college administration is in touch with concerned authorities and hopefully it would be resolved “soon”.
Prof Amjad Iqbal Khattak, deputy director of colleges when contacted over the issue termed “gross negligence” on the part of the college administration. He was of the view that if the affected students or their parents complained, the district education authorities would take necessary action against the college administration.
