Faisalabad (PR) : National Textile University Faisalabad has announced the official approval of the method of production of spinnable banana fibers by making significant progress towards innovation and said that the National Textile University has been able to produce spinnable bananas from plant waste. In a major step towards textile innovation, the National Textile University has announced the formal approval of a patented, spinnable banana fiber manufacturing method that will be a feature for the next 20 years. guarantees and marks a new era in sustainable textile production. These innovative developments were made by Dr. Faheem Ahmed, Dr. Shiraz Ahmed, Dr. Yasir Nawab, and Dr. Muzmal Hussain under the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan-funded project NOTEX63.GCF ( GCF-63 has been developed under KnowTex) which is ready to reshape the textile industry. According to the spokesperson of the university, the said new method of producing banana fibers from plant waste has softness and better properties while this patent also represents the culmination of extensive research and innovation in the field of sustainable textiles. This creative process consists of several key steps that contribute to the development of not only spinable banana fiber but also eco-friendly and high-performance ones,” he said. It also can pave the way for clothes.
