    Islamabad, (Parliament Times) :  High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam, PG Kamal Bashah PG Ahmed, paid a courtesy call on Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani here at Parliament House on Thursday.

    Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani warmly congratulated High Commissioner PG Kamal Bashah PG Ahmed on his recent appointment and extended his heartfelt best wishes for the role.

    The meeting was marked by a strong sense of optimism and hope for an enhancement in the diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam as Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani expressed his confidence that this appointment would contribute to the strengthening of relations between the two nations.

    During the comprehensive discussion, the two sides delved into the prevailing regional situation, addressing issues of mutual interest. Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam’s strong bilateral relations, deeply rooted in shared religious values and cooperation, were also highlighted.

    Both dignitaries emphasized the need to further bolster these relations, particularly in areas of trade, business, investment, and the economic sector. Pakistan’s investor-friendly policies were showcased as an attractive prospect for potential investments from Brunei Darussalam in various sectors, such as energy, agriculture, and education.

    Chairman Senate also highlighted the profound trust that Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam share on matters related to Islamophobia, cooperation within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and their collective commitment to world peace.

    A significant point of discussion revolved around the agricultural sector, where Chairman Senate underscored the importance of utilizing scarce water resources and modern technology to enhance productivity. He underlined the vast investment opportunities available in Pakistan and urged businessmen and investors from both countries to explore and capitalize on these prospects to mutual benefit. Effective strategies in the economic and business sectors were also emphasized as a means to foster growth and cooperation.

    Moreover, Chairman Senate brought to the forefront the critical issues of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, shedding light on the alarming human rights violations occurring in these regions. He called upon the international community to play an active role in finding solutions to these longstanding conflicts. Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani stressed that finding resolutions for these issues was a challenging test for the United Nations, and he emphasized the need for a unified plan of action within the Muslim Ummah to end the ongoing cruelty and barbarism in Occupied Kashmir and Palestine.

    Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam, PG Kamal Bashah PG Ahmed, expressed his country’s keen interest in expanding bilateral relations with Pakistan and commended Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace.
