Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, delivered a speech at the International Symposium held in Beijing, China to Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of China’s Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit, and Inclusiveness in Neighborhood Diplomacy, proposed by President Xi Jinping. H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, was among the distinguished attendees.

In a gesture of goodwill and respect, Chairman Senate extended his warm greetings and gratitude to the Chinese hosts for their invitation and hospitality, acknowledging the enduring bond between Pakistan and China. He emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to this profound partnership.

Chairman Senate congratulated China on its 74th Founding Anniversary earlier in the month, expressing immense pride in the close friendship between Pakistan and China.

In his remarks, Sanjrani congratulated China on the successful hosting of the symposium as well as the recently held 3rd Belt and Road Forum (BRF) in Beijing. While underlining BRI’s contribution to the concept of good neighborliness, he highly appreciated the role of CPEC as a catalyst for the socio-economic uplift of Pakistan and the neighboring countries.

Chairman Senate spoke at length about the situations in Occupied Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). He condemned the brazen Israeli atrocities in Gaza while thanking China for supporting the just cause of the Palestinians. He called upon the international community to raise its voice for the cessation of hostilities, creation of a humanitarian corridor, and resumption of an inclusive and transparent peace process to secure an independent Palestine through the realization of the two-state solution.

He also highlighted the plight of the Kashmiris suffering under the Indian illegal occupation and urged the need for early resolution of the Kashmir dispute based on the UN Security Council resolutions which call for granting the right to self-determination to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

Chairman Senate paid tribute to President Xi Jinping’s visionary leadership, highlighting the progress China has achieved under his guidance and the commitment to further prosperity, strength, democracy, civilization, and harmony. These principles are central to the symposium’s theme.

“A decade ago, President Xi Jinping introduced a transformative path for international relations, reflecting China’s rich history and diplomatic wisdom. The White Paper unveiled during the event articulates a new approach to international relations, emphasizing economic globalization and common values of humanity” said Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani.

He acknowledged the enduring impact of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the Non-Aligned Movement, which embody the principles of equality, mutual respect, and a shared vision for a peaceful future.

Chairman Senate urged the international community to embrace dialogue over conflict and to resolve issues through unbiased intermediation and economic cooperation. He stressed the importance of addressing humanitarian crises, such as the situations in Kashmir and Palestine, in line with UN conventions and upholding human rights.

In the words of President Xi, “The greatest ideal is the world’s shared values,” the Chairman Senate concluded. He expressed hope that collaborative actions and unity would lead to a brighter and more harmonious future for all participants in the symposium.
