Muzaffarabad. (Parliament Times) : Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is releasing the 01st quarterly tranche of Benazir Kafaalat cash assistance from Friday 22nd Sep, 2023. 01st quarterly tranche will be Rs. 9000/disbursed to 98,688 BISP beneficiaries in AJK region. In addition to Benazir Kafaalat cash assistance, Benazir Taleemi Wazaif stipend is also being disbursed to school going students having at least 70% attendance in school who are registered under Benazir Taleemi Wazaif.This time, disbursement will be made through200, especially arranged point of sale (POS) established throughout AJK. The arrangement of disbursement of stipends through Bank AL-Falah POS agents is to facilitate the beneficiaries and ensure transparency.
Details shared by the Regional Director BISP AJK ina meeting held today with the Inspector General Police of the GoAJK to discuss regardingAdministrative/Security related support during the disbursement of the BISP Kafaalat regular Quarterly Tranche to deserving BISP women beneficiaries in AJK region. Regional Director Dr. Abdul-Aziz Qureshi briefed to IG PoliceDr.Amir Ahmed Shaikh that BISP is a Federal Government initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to low-income families and individuals in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. BISP AJK works tirelessly to alleviate poverty, empower women, and promote social inclusion through various social protection programs.
The meeting, which took place at IGP office Chattar, Muzaffarabad on Sep, 21, was convened to address the logistical and security challenges associated with the disbursement of financial assistance to BISP beneficiaries.The meeting, aimed to strengthen collaboration between BISP and GoAJK in ensuring the seamless distribution of financial assistance to BISP beneficiaries, who rely on these critical resources for their well-being.
During the meeting, the Regional Director of BISP AJK, Dr. Abdul-Aziz Qureshi, expressed gratitude to the Inspector General Police, Dr. Amir Ahmed Sheikh, and the GoAJK for their continuous support of BISP’s mission to improve the lives of marginalized communities in the region.He highlighted the importance of a secure and efficient disbursement process to ensure that the intended beneficiaries receive their entitlements without any hindrance. He stressed that BISP’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations in AJK relies on the smooth execution of these payment.
In concluding remarks Inspector General of Police Dr. Amir Ahmed Sheikh, expressed his department’s willingness to provide the necessary Security/administrative support to BISP during the disbursement process. He acknowledged the significance of BISP’s efforts in alleviating poverty and promoting social inclusion in AJK. He also affirmed the GoAJK’s commitment to maintaining law and order during the disbursement exercise and assured the Regional Director of BISP AJK of the police force’s full cooperation.
