Amjad Chaudhry said that currently there are more than fifty newspapers published from Azad Kashmir and here in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, of which I am the president of AKNS. Amjad Chaudhry said that DG Information is the most important post on which all the media have to deal and keep them satisfied. He was in touch with all small and big media houses and journalists, due to which everyone considered him as his close associate. Amjad Chaudhry said that the present government has increased the media budget to 19 crores on the initiative of AKNS, which is welcome, but there are also reports that electronic media has also been included in it. is going. He said that AKNS demands that this budget should be limited to print media only and a separate budget should be allocated for electronic media and paper rules should be abolished. He said that such a policy should be made so that the budget does not lapse but the entire budget can be spent in time. He said that our state newspapers are not being given quota in PID Pakistan whereas national newspapers of Pakistan are being given regular advertisements from Azad Kashmir but national newspapers carry more media than state newspapers.
AKNS demands that at least 60 percent of the budget should be allocated to state newspapers. Advertisements should be given to all institutions according to merit in state newspapers. He said that as president of AKNS, “I have also met Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq and informed him about my problems,” He said that we are trying hard to highlight all the good initiatives of the government and wherever there is a deficiency, it should be pointed out according to journalistic etiquette. President AKNS said that some newspapers are reported to have stopped advertising, if so, the problem should be resolved immediately and the ban on newspaper advertisements should be lifted immediately. Newly appointed Director General Information Shahid Khokhar while thanking AKNS President said,” I am especially grateful to the Prime Minister who has shown confidence in me and appointed me to this important post,”. He said that there is a need to work hard on the legal issues with reference to newspapers. Yellow journalism will be discouraged and positive and constructive journalism will be strongly encouraged. Merit will be promoted with reference to advertisements and whoever is entitled to it will surely get it.
