LAHORE: The Provincial Minister of Mines and Minerals Department, Punjab, Ibrahim Murad, while presiding over the meeting held regarding the provision of better facilities to the mine labor, said that we are working for the prosperity and improvement of facilities for mine workers in Punjab. The Mines Labour Welfare Department is ensuring the provision of free education to the children of the laborers working in the mines. He said that we want the children of the laborers to become skilled and build a better future. We are also working on providing skilled training to the housewives of mines labor so that they can also play their role in the financial welfare of their family, added Murad. The Provincial Minister said that water filtration plants will also be installed to supply clean water to the mines. Mine Labor Welfare Schools also provide stipends to students and ensure the provision of the best medical facilities to the workers working in the mines. The provincial minister issued special instructions that training should be conducted for all the officers working in Mines Labor Welfare regarding the rules of the Labor Department. In the meeting, the Provincial Minister was given a detailed briefing by Commissioner Mines Labor Welfare Punjab, Riaz Ahmad Chaudhry. Director General Mines and Minerals Abdul Shakoor was also present in the meeting, and in view of the instructions of the provincial minister, he also assured full cooperation from the department for the welfare of the workers.
