TANK :South Waziristan Upper, Police claimed to have arrested a gang involved in robbing tourists in South Waziristan during Eid holidays.
DPO Upper Niaz Muhammad Khan said that more persons involved in the case will be arrested soon.
According to DPO Upper, there is still no hotel facility in South Waziristan, the said tourists from Karak stayed for the night in a Mosque in the Medan area.
Taking advantage, the accused escaped by robbing the tourists and took five mobile phones, 66,000 rupees, service cards and ATM cards with them.
On the special instructions of Inspector General Police Akhtar Hayat Gandapur and Regional Police Officer Dera Ghafoor Afridi, police taking immediate action, conducted raids for the arrests of the gang involved in the robbery.
On this occasion DPO said that the
accused were successfully arrested under the supervision of DSP Circle Sherullah, SHO Ladha Nazreullah and Investigation Officer Manzoor Khan.
A raiding team was formed for the arrest of the accused, used very strategic and scientific methods and arrested three suspects, Bin Yamin, Shahid Rehman and Sifatullah.
Police also recovered a pistol, cartridges, money. 5 stolen cellphones, fifty thousand rupees, ATM card and service card from their possessions.
The DPO further said that the investigation in the case is going on and more arrests are likely.
