Bahrain: In the four affected villages of Tehsil Bahrain, an event
was conducted regarding rehabilitation works and training of the local population
by CRA-N.
On July 6, 2023, CRA-N organized a ceremony at the Village Council Office in
Tirat, Madin, concerning the rehabilitation and training of the local population in
areas affected by the floods in Swat last year, 2022. The special guests at the event
included Mr. Iqbal Hussain, the Agriculture Officer of Tehsil Bahrain; the
Chairman of Village Council, Shahgram; the Speaker of Tehsil Council, Farid
Ahmed; and the Principal of Government High School, Madin. The participants of
the event were people from the villages of Kalagram, Damana, Haryana, and
Damle. Representatives from CRA-N, including the Team Leader of District Swat,
Mr. Haseebullah, and the Community Resilience Officer, Inamullah, as well as
Sajjad Anwar, participated in the event.
In the event, Community Resilience Officer Inamullah provided a detailed
explanation of the project to the participants. Inamullah mentioned that the project
primarily focuses on restoring agricultural irrigation in these four flood-affected
villages and addressing natural disasters. A training program on response,
management, and planning is also included in the project. Inamullah further stated
that the training program would involve the participation of youth, farmers, civil
society, and local leaders. Engineer Anwarullah, spoke at the event, and provided a
detailed explanation of the structural design in the agricultural irrigation project.
Mr. Iqbal Hussain, Agricultural Officer of Tehsil Bahrain, also addressed the
audience and emphasized the importance of the project, its positive effects on the
area, and the benefits it would bring to the people.
At the end of the event, participants from the affected areas expressed their views
and showed optimism regarding the project.
