ISLAMABAD, (Raja Furqan Ahmed) : Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Senator Naseebullah Bazai met Sarwar Gondal, Member Support Services Ministry of Finance Pakistan. According to the details, MPA from Balochistan Nasrullah Zehri and Director General Census (Admn) Dr Amjad Javaid Sandhu was also present. During the meeting, Senator Naseebullah Bazai discussed the ongoing census. Bazai said that the population of District Quetta has decreased as compared to the previous census. Senator Naseebullah Bazai highlighted that the population of Quetta is almost 4 million but somehow it is reflected as only 2.3 million in the current census. He further added that there should have been a corresponding increase like the population of other districts of Balochistan and pointed out that clarity can be obtained by looking at the data from the polio campaign. Meanwhile, Member Support Services assured Senator Bazait that his team will look into this matter and promised to extend the Census date. Earlier, following the concerns raised by political parties over the accuracy of the exercise, the government extended the process of the ongoing 7th digital census in the country till the 15th of May.
