KARACHI, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has said that Asian Development Bank assured of support for rehabilitation of schools in rain-affected areas in Sindh.
He said that the Asian Development Bank will provide financial support for the rehabilitation of 1100 rain-affected schools.
Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah was presiding over meeting of Sindh Education officials at his office in Karachi.
He said that in this regards, a delegation of Asian Development Bank met with him last day in Karachi.
He said that the three-member delegation was led by Eisuke Tajima, principal education specialist of the Social Sector Division.
Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah said that the Asian Development Bank is already supporting the education sector under the “Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Project”.
Provincial Minister Syed Sardar Shah thanked the ADP for providing funds for the restoration of 1100 rain-affected schools in Sindh.
He said that in the rehabilitation phase of the affected areas, the Sindh government is paying full attention to the education sector.
Secretary School Education Sindh Ghulam Akbar Laghari, Project Director Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Hamzo Khan Taggar and relevant officers of the Education Department were also present.
He said that rain affected all schools will be rehabilitated with standard material and techniques that rain can not affect them in future.
He said that Sindh education department was focusing to enrol all out of school children and providing the furniture and free books as well as.
About closed schools, he said that it ensured to open all closed schools with appointments of the teachers on merit at vacancies through tests.
About appointment of the teachers, he education department has appointed the 65000 teachers on merit and it was periority of the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PPP Co Chairman Asif Ali Zardari that task was completed.
.He said that Sindh education department has followed a system of appointments of teachers in Sindh and it was history mark.
Answering to a question, he said that in rehabilitation plan of the schools, all damaged schools will be rehabilitated and Mehar, KN Shah, Johi, Dadu and Sehwan talukas were focused because these areas were more affected in flood disaster 2023.
Syed Sardar Ali Shah said that he holds meetings with officers of each area and received information about schools and focusing the attendence of the teachers in schools and also vigilant the teams to conduct visits the schools and on daily base report was sent to him through secretary education Schools in Sindh..
Replying to a question said that Syed Sardar Ali Shah Minister for Education Sindh said that a very important meeting of Board of Governance Sindh Teachers Education Authority STEDA held some three days back at Karachi and to improve the education of Sindh the important decesions were held.
He said that meeting was attended by senior education officers including Ghulam Akbar Laghari Secretary School Education and Literacy Department, Dr. Fouzia Khan Additional Secretary SE&LD, Haroon Leghari, Executive Director STEDA/ Additional Teachers Training Sindh, Agha Sohail, Chairman STBB Sindh Text Book Board and others.
Related with decesions of board of Governance, he said the following important decisions were made in favour of Teachers Training Institute.
He said that the following decisions were held as government elementary colleges will be renamed as Government Colleges of Education.
He said that the Post of Additional Director Teachers Training Institution Sindh Hyderabad will be renamed as Director Teachers Training Institution Sindh Hyderabad.
He said that evening classes of B.Ed 1.5 years and 2.5 years years will be started in coming academic session.
Replying about the question, most important teaching licence policy approved by CM Sindh. He said that Teachers license policy 2023 was very important and it would be fruitfull for the teachers and education department and it was history mark progress of the education department in Sindh. He said that after approval the teachers license policy 2023 by CM Sindh it was kept for Sindh Cabinet and after approval Sindh Cabinet it would be implemented in Sindh Education Department government of Sindh.
