FAISALABAD: For the beautification of Faisalabad, various projects are going to initiate with the support of the private sector, while the construction of a ramp to directly connect the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry( FCCI) to the Canal Road will be started soon in a week. The Deputy Commissioner Ali Annan Qamar said this while talking to the delegation led by FCCI President Dr. Khurram Tariq. He said that the small projects are needed to beautify this city and in this regard & the district administration will also fully cooperate with the private sector and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He directed the FDA to submit a report regarding the construction of the ramp in front of the chamber complex within a week so that its construction can be started immediately. He further elaborated that the garbage heaps on the government land on Dhanula, Dryport Road will be removed and parks and green areas will be developed there. While the responsibility of their permanent security will be taken by the local industrialists. He narrated that this would increase the beauty of the city while also helping to control environmental pollution. He further expressed that the process of repainting the Nishatabad bridge is going on, while the chamber will also take more steps to beautify it and the district administration will provide all possible support to them in this regard. On this occasion, Dr. Khurram Tariq said that the responsibility of the beauty of the city will be taken by the people here and he will fully cooperate in this regard from the FCCI platform. President Chamber said that the responsibility of maintenance of parks, green area and vacant plots can be entrusted to the business community to eliminate environmental pollution. The President thanked the Deputy Commissioner for directing the construction of the ramp.
There are schools on both sides and traffic is blocked there during holidays, Ministers, ambassadors and other dignitaries coming to the chamber have to face unnecessary trouble while the construction of the ramp will enable them to reach out the chamber directly from Canal Road. Shahid Mumtaz Bajwa, Chairman of the Chamber’s Standing Committee on City Development was also present on this occasion.
Moreover, the citizens of Faisalabad have demanded from the administration, especially the industrialists, that there are many factories in the city which are continuously producing pollution, which is causing respiratory diseases.
In this regard, the Presidents of various associations & organizations are completely silent ? Dr. Tahir Hameed Mujahid clarified that the relevant institutions were reminded many times but no one missed the test and the causes of pollution are increasing more and more day by day.
Tahir Hameed said further adding that human health is a great blessing and regarding this blessing how can anyone be allowed to play along?
