FAISALABAD: Under the Ramadan special package the distribution of free flour (ATTA) has started in the district. On the first day of distribution as many as 118363 bags of 10 kg flour were distributed at 44 points. The Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qamar visited the various distribution points of Riaz Shahid Chowk, Hockey Stadium, Kaleem Shaheed Park, Faizan Madina Chowk, Model Bazar Jhang Road, Sports Complex Samanabad, Al Fateh Sports Complex Saleemi Chowk, on utility stores and registered shops of PASP.
Assistant Commissioner City Muhammad Zubair also accompanied with him on the occasion. The Deputy Commissioner inspected the process of providing free flour to the people registered under the Benazir Income Support Program and said that transparency is the hallmark of this scheme which will not be compromised at any cost. He checked the provision of seating for men and women and availability of drinking water at the centres.
He urged the duty staffers to provide bags of flour to the beneficiaries with respect and take steps to guide them. He said while talking to the media persons that
the registered people of Benazir Income Support Program should bring their original National Identity Card along with the verification message by sending a message to 8070 and get three bags of flour free in a phased manner after checking the eligibility on the spot. He said that although 1100000 people in the district are registered but new people could be registered by sending ATTA>identity card number# by typing on mobile and send to 8070 and get free Atta on confirmation message.
He asked the eligible people to get flour from the centers, all the beneficiaries will get flour under this scheme, the district administration has made extraordinary arrangements at the centers and this scheme will be continued uninterruptedly till 25th of Ramadan daily from 9 am to 5 pm. The Deputy Commissioner directed the Assistant Commissioners to keep a watchful eye on all the necessary arrangements at the distribution centers and said that the caretaker government of Punjab is directly monitoring the entire process of transparent and fair distribution of flour, so any slight lapse or negligence will not be tolerated. On this occasion, the recipients of flour thanked the caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and said that due to the efficient arrangements of the district administration, the beneficiaries are getting flour at a fast pace, which is a good move under the current needs.
