    Mr. Mark Eastwood visits Punjab Board of Investment and Trade

    Lahore: Member British Parliament and British Prime Minister’s Trade envoy Mr. Mark Eastwood visited Punjab Board of Investment and Trade, caretaker Provincial Minister for Industry & Commerce and Energy SM Tanveer welcomed the UK Trade Envoy. During the meeting between Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce SM Tanveer and UK Trade Envoy, it was agreed to enhance bilateral trade cooperation. CEO Punjab Board of Investment and Trade Jalal Hasan Khan informed about the investment opportunities and facilities being provided to investors in Punjab.

    UK Trade envoy, Member British Parliament Mr. Mark Eastwood said that we want to develop strong trade relations and partnership with Pakistan and Punjab. Investors from Punjab and UK can also start joint ventures. Mark Eastwood said that the large number of Pakistanis residing in the UK are playing their full role in the development of the country.
    Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce SM Tanveer said that Punjab has a wide scope for investment in education, health, energy, textile and other sectors. Local and foreign investors can also invest in 13 Special Economic Zones of Punjab. Provincial Minister of Industry and Commerce added that the Punjab Investment Board is providing all possible facilities to domestic and foreign investors under one roof. He said that there are deep friendly and commercial relations between Pakistan and UK. However, there is scope to increase further cooperation. Bilateral trade can be promoted by increasing links at the public level. Mr. Alan Nibock, Head of British Prime Ministers Trade envoy Team, Hamid Kamal Deputy Trade Director British High Commission and others were present in the meeting while Additional Secretary Commerce Zohaib Mushtaq, Director Punjab Investment Board. Sohail Qadri and concerned officers also attended the meeting.
