Islamabad (Parliament Times): The delighted event of Prize Distribution Ceremony was held today in Islamabad on March 04, 2023, at Marriot Hotel Islamabad.
The ceremony has been cheered by the Turkish Ambassador H.E. Mehmet Paçac as a Chief Guest and along with the distinguished guest from the Government High Officials from Turkiye and Pakistan.
The ceremony was organized to represent the prizes and certificates to the winners of MISMO, as well as the organizers.
This year 17,500 students from 874 schools from both public and private sectors participated in the event in more than 65 exam centers, located in 35 cities.
This year’s MISMO includes a unique title to be given to the winner of Grade 8th named “The Al-Khwarizmi of Pakistan”. It is earned by Ahmed Hasnat of Grade 8th from Cadet College, Hasan Abdal.
MISMO (Maarif Inter-School Math Olympiad) is a prominent mathematical competition in Pakistan organized by Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools & Colleges. Its primary objective is to discover and showcase the mathematical talent and abilities of young students in Pakistan. MISMO strives to promote and foster the development of mathematical intelligence and proficiency among Pakistani students.
The quest to find the Al Khwarizmi or the next mathematician of Pakistan 2022 continues at the MISMO National Awards Ceremony. The National Awards Distribution Ceremony of MISMO was conducted on March 4, 2023 at the Marriot Hotel Islamabad. The ceremony was organized to represent the prizes and certificates to the winners of MISMO, as well as the organizers. The largest mathematics competition in Pakistan, known as MISMO 2022 or the Maarif Inter-School Maths Olympiad, was conducted by Pak-Turk Maarif International School and Colleges on 28th November 2022.
The competition aspires to promote the cognitive and reasoning capabilities among the youngsters related to mathematical intelligence. Every year, the Maarif Inter-School Math Olympiad MISMO provides students of Grade 4 to 8 from all the Pakistan with an opportunity to showcase their problem-solving, critical thinking, and mental skills by competing with fellow students at the regional and national levels. This year, Pak-Turk Maarif organized the event in 6 regions and 35 different cities with more than 17000 students participating and making the event a success.
Mathematician of Pakistan 2022 & The Next Al-Khwarizmi Decided:
MISMO is back with a bang, new titles and prizes. This year’s MISMO includes a unique title to be given to the winner of Grade 8th named “The Al-Khwarizmi of Pakistan”. It is earned by Ahmed Hasnat of Grade 8th from Cadet College, Hasan Abdal. MISMO competition by Pak-Turk Maarif, aims to help the students understand their capabilities and skills in reference to the historical personalities who changed the world with their intellectual skills. Al Khwarizmi was a great mathematician and the founder of Algebra.
The Legacy of MISMO:
The Country Director recognizes MISMO as a significant academic event in Pakistan, providing a platform for students from both public and private schools to showcase their mathematical skills. Moreover, the competition promotes teamwork by encouraging participation from school management, teachers, and students from diverse academic backgrounds. Therefore, MISMO is deemed a valuable contribution from Türkiye’s expertise in this domain to Pakistan’s academic landscape, given its inclusive nature.
The National Awards Ceremony of the MISMO:
The presence of a Chief Guest and a Guest of Honour was deemed crucial to ensure the success of the MISMO National Awards Distribution Ceremony. Additionally, the Turkish Ambassador was invited to highlight the strong bond between Türkiye and Pakistan, which he described as that of a brotherhood.
The MISMO commenced with a charming welcome choir performance by the talented children from Pak-Turk Maarif who gave their all to captivate the audience. This was followed by the announcement of various positions and winners for the awards, culminating in the declaration of Pakistan’s Al-Khwarizmi award recipient. The event then moved further with the National anthems of respective countries; Pakistan & Türkiye as it signifies the brotherly relation between both the countries and accentuate the value of “Two Nations, One Future”.
