Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : A meeting between Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan and Prime Minister’s Advisor on Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira was held in Islamabad. In the meeting, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Secretary for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs, Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir. Muhammad Usman Chachar, Principal Secretary Fayaz Ali Abbasi and Finance Secretary Ismatullah Shah and other senior officers participated. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the ongoing development projects and economic issues in Azad Kashmir. On this occasion, the Adviser on Kashmir Affairs said that the region of Azad Kashmir was of utmost importance and the Prime Minister of Pakistan issued special instructions regarding the solution to the problems of Azad Kashmir. He said that this importance could be gauged from this matter. In the current financial year, the budget of all the provinces was cut, but knowing the importance of Azad Kashmir, its budget was maintained. Adviser on Kashmir Affairs said that regarding tax reforms in Azad Kashmir, the track was ready to provide all technical support for the implementation of the VAT system to improve the tax collection system in Azad Kashmir.Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas informed about the concerns of Azad Kashmir on the budget issue regarding the impact of salary increase and increasing the rates of various projects because of inflation and demanded that the government of Pakistan could cooperate in this regard. Apart from this, the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir made suggestions regarding the share of Azad Kashmir in PTA and USF and said that the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs would play its role in paying this share. On this occasion, Advisor on Kashmir Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira said that PSDP funds had been reduced due to the economic situation in the country, but despite this, considering the special importance of Azad Kashmir, his ministry had decided to resolve the economic problems of Azad Kashmir. He emphasized on this occasion that to get positive results, it was necessary to strengthen the cooperation and relations between the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and the Azad Kashmir government.
