LAHORE : “Annual Sustainability Conference ‘Circular Economy towards Roshan Pakistan’ organized by Roshan Packages was held at Royal Palm Golf and Country Club. Caretaker Minister of Industry, Commerce and Energy SM Tanveer was the chief guest in the conference. Provincial Minister of Industry and Commerce SM Tanveer while addressing the Annual Sustainability Conference said that environmental and economic problems are increasing due to increase in temperature. Last year, Pakistan has born the lost about 32 billion dollars due to floods. The world has realized its responsibility while we are slumbering. We have to wake up from our slumber to deal with the problems caused by rising temperatures. The provincial minister said that forests are being cut, green areas are decreasing while urbanization is increasing and infrastructure is poor. Our weak economy cannot afford to waste resources. SM Tanveer said that nations are built by hard work, we have to accept the challenge and move forward with hard work. He said that Roshan packages have set a good example to tackle environmental challenges. Such conferences are necessary to spread awareness. Tayyab Ijaz Qureshi, CEO, Roshan Packages, while highlighting the development journey of his company, said that everyone has to realize their responsibilities to protect the environment. Billions of rupees can be saved by using waste. Industrialists, representatives of related companies and students of universities participated in the conference.
